The View from Inside
Stories from the residents of Megan’s House
We girls from the Megan’s House recently had the privilege to spend some time together bonding at The Garden Brothers Circus.
At the circus there were a lot of exciting things going on. There were huge elephants and camels. As a house, we enjoyed the elephants the most. We were able to talk to the two gentlemen and they were generous enough to give us free rides.
Being able to do things like this brings us together and offers us a chance to make everlasting memories. We are like family to each other here. Some of the acrobat tricks made our stomachs turn. One of the girls thought for sure one almost fell, another believes that he slipped up on purpose. We were on the edge of our seats We are still debating that one. They move so quickly up in the air and must have great upper body strength holding themselves up for so long while doing all those mesmerizing air twirls. It was nice that we were able experience this with no judgement. We were part of the lively crowd, able to be goofballs. J That was probably one of the coolest parts of the day. It was hilarious because we were able to wave to each other from up on the elephants. One girl went by doing the queen wave. We felt on top of the world. We were laughing so hard our stomachs hurt.
One of the other great parts was the junk food we got to enjoy; the popcorn, cotton candy and fried dough. Memo – next time don’t wear black while eating fried dough with extra sugar and cinnamon.
Our Saturday activities always get to be a lot of fun! We do other exciting activities such as rollerblading, movie theater trips, and beach days. We are waiting for the better weather for more relaxing beach days! We love that we get to have these sober experiences. A lot of us hadn’t remembered what it was like to belly laugh until we got to Megan’s House.
