99 Reasons to Smile
A large turnout at a local restaurant recently helped that community minded business dish out a large donation to Megan’s House.
The Ninety-Nine Restaurant on Chelmsford Street in Lowell held one of their signature “Dining for a Cause” fundraisers on Tuesday, December 27th. As the beneficiary of the event, Megan’s House received 15% of the proceeds from diners who showed a special voucher indicating they were there to support the cause.
The management of the landmark Lowell restaurant also allowed Megan House Foundation Board members to set up an informational table and sell raffle tickets to assist in the fundraising efforts. Other local businesses pitched in to provide raffle prizes, donating gift certificates for food, automobile servicing and gift baskets filled with everything from gourmet chocolates to lottery tickets.
Nearly every customer who entered the building between 4-10pm that night stopped by to learn more about the program and make contributions. The Ninety-Nine’s servers and bartenders also got into the spirit of giving, donning Megan House t-shirts to help spread the word and even stopping by the display table to purchase raffle tickets with their hard earned tips.
When all was said and done, more than $2,200 was raised to help Megan’s House continue assisting young women in recovery.
The Megan House Foundation would like to thank the team at the Ninety-Nine Restaurant in Lowell for their incredible generosity, and we express our heartfelt appreciation to all who took time out of their busy, post-holiday schedule to make a point of dining for our cause.
