Join Us for Good
Since Day 1, one of the great supporters of Megan’s House has been Eastern Bank, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given just how much good Massachusetts’ largest community bank does in the community.
Megan House Foundation Executive Director Deb Belanger and Program Director MaryBeth Murphy joined more than 1,500 people in Boston this past week for the launch of Eastern Bank’s latest branding effort, Join us for Good. The campaign, which has been in the works for over a year, emphasizes the bank’s work on social issues as a way to stand out in the crowd.
Chief Executive Bob Rivers addressed the crowd and said “Join Us for Good is not just a new tagline, but our mantra, a movement to encourage others to join us throughout our communities in doing good.”

Eastern Bank employees provide over 50,000 hours in community service and the bank donates 10% of its revenues to charity. In all, 1500 non-profit organizations will benefit from this campaign, including many in previously underserved communities.
The young women of Megan’s House have experienced this generosity first-hand, both in terms of financial donations, but also in terms of volunteer services.
Eastern Bank’s Vice President of Wealth Management, John “Doc” Doherty, has been providing financial training for residents at the home over the last several months, teaching them the ins and outs of how to manage money, balance a checkbook and even providing assistance in opening bank accounts.
The Megan House Foundation encourages everyone to visit Eastern Bank’s Join Us for Good webpage and find out about all the ways you can join them in their efforts to help the community.
