Megan’s House Welcomes Six New Board Members
A distinguished group of individuals with deep roots in local philanthropic
efforts join the Megan House Foundation team to help make a
difference in the lives of young women in recovery
LOWELL, MA – The Megan House Foundation is pleased to welcome Jessica Cabinta, Denise Gilbride, Brandi Giles, Bob Howard, Pam Huntley, and Steve Normandin to their Board of Directors.
The new members were officially approved and introduced at the organization’s February Board meeting. Chairman Robert Gignac enthusiastically welcomed the group, saying “their commitment to the mission of Megan’s House and passion for helping those in need will be a tremendous asset as we seek to expand our services.”
Each new member brings a wealth of experience and familiarity within the community, Cabinta as a Business Lender with Eastern Bank, Gilbride as an owner of Gilbride Electric and Giles as President and Founder of Body Destinations. Howard owns Heritage Ice Cream & Restaurant, Huntley is the Director of Community Relations for Lowell General Hospital and the Center for Community Health and Wellness and Normandin has over 30 years of experience in management in various entrepreneurial ventures, most recently as President of AMD Global Telemedicine.
“I think I speak for all the new Board members in saying we’ve lost far too many young people to this terrible addiction,” Normandin said. “Supporting Megan’s House in its mission will help ensure these women recover and grow as they begin to lead productive, independent lives.”
Earlier this month, Megan’s House was awarded a state contract by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through 2025, allowing the comprehensive program to speed up the pace of its new initiatives aimed at extending the bridge to recovery well beyond the existing program.
Megan’s House is a residential treatment home for women age 18 to 26. The mission of Megan’s House is to improve the quality of life of its residents through an evidence-based substance abuse treatment program that emphasizes individual dignity, self-respect, and empowerment. In doing so, the treatment team utilizes flexibility, support, and outstanding client services to meet individual needs and establish a culture that promotes wellness and success.
