Lowell’s Heroes Can’t Be Iced
Whether saving lives on the streets or donating money and supplies for the young women who call Megan’s House home, the men and women of the Lowell Fire Department have been front and center in the battle against addiction.
So when it came time to pick a beneficiary to skate for in an upcoming hockey tournament, Megan’s House scored yet again!
A team of 14 Lowell Firefighters will compete this coming weekend in the Hero’s Cup Hockey Tournament. The 3-day event takes place at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts and features teams comprised of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMS personnel and military members.
The tournament field consists of 54 teams from around the United States and even Canada. Local teams from the Lowell Police Department and Chelmsford Police & Fire are also among the participants.
A GoFundMe Page has been set up to solicit donations, and they’ll be selling T-Shirts featuring Lowell Fire and Megan’s House logos.
The Megan House Foundation wishes to thank the brave men and women who help keep us safe, while providing so much assistance with our mission to make a difference in the lives of the young women who call Megan House home.
