Running with Purpose in Every Step
The inaugural Megan’s House 5k proved to be a rousing success, raising nearly $10,000 to help young women in recovery.
Over 100 runners and walkers participated in the event, which was held in Lowell this past Saturday, October 21st. In addition to the participants, a tremendous turnout of friends and family added to the post-race celebration which included a live band and some wonderful raffle prizes.
The day was punctuated by the appearance of Megan’s House residents and staff expressing appreciation for the outpouring of community support on their behalf.
The 5k was organized by Megan House Foundation Board Member, Denise Gilbride, who worked collaboratively with local running groups and secured numerous sponsorships that helped make the day a rousing success. Response was so positive, next year’s 5k is already in the works.
The Megan House Foundation would like to thank all who participated and supported this event. Their generosity continues to make a difference in the lives of the young women in recovery who call Megan’s House home.
