Raffle Winner Receives Keys to the House
The Town of Dracut welcomes its newest resident!
Barbara Lang, who purchased the winning ticket in the Megan’s House: Where Dreams Come Home Raffle, received the keys to her brand, new Colonial home this afternoon in a ceremony attended by Megan House Foundation team members and local media.
The mother of three boys, who works nearby at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, also received a warm welcome from Dracut Town Manager James Duggan. Duggan pulled the ticket with Lang’s name and entry number at a drawing event held at Four Oaks Country Cub in Dracut on November 9th.
Lang learned of winning the prize when a friend, watching the drawing during the Facebook Live broadcast of the big moment, recognized the name and immediately called to inform her she might be the winner.
After taking a few days to prepare the logistics of taking ownership of her new home, Lang reached out to the Foundation to verify her identity and claim the grand prize. Through tears, she thanked everyone for the wonderful news and expressed appreciation for the amazing work being done to help young women in recovery.
At today’s key presentation ceremony, Lang also thanked everyone involved, from Megan’s House team members to the many sponsors who helped make the wildly successful raffle possible.
In return, the Megan House Foundation would like to thank the nearly 5,000 people from across the country who purchased tickets and helped us raise awareness about this national health crisis.
And to Barbara Lang, we say “Congratulations and welcome to the neighborhood!”
