Christmas Comes Early to Megan’s House
Santa Claus paid an early visit to Megan’s House this week, helping bring the holiday spirit to young women in recovery, many who haven’t been able to enjoy the season of giving in several years.
“Jolly old St. Nick” was in attendance at the annual Megan’s House Christmas party, passing out gifts gathered at the “Presents for Residents” event earlier this month, where dozens of supporters provided piles of presents for the young women who call Megan’s House home at that event.
The outpouring of support from the community brought smiles from the grateful residents at the party, and even brought many of them to tears as they unwrapped their gifts. The joyous scene repeated itself a few hours later as Santa paid a visit to Erin’s House to help spread holiday cheer at the first Christmas celebration held at the Megan House Foundation’s first success home, which opened its doors in August.
After completing his journey around the world on Christmas Eve, Santa Claus will return to Megan’s House Christmas Day to drop off even more presents and share a holiday meal with residents who aren’t able to spend the day at their family home. Of course, thanks to a supportive staff and loving community, young women in recovery will always have at least one place to call home for the holidays.
