Megan House Foundation Awarded $5,000 through
The Women Working Wonders Fund
The award recognizes the women working wonders through the
Megan’s House programs to help reunite mothers in recovery with their children
(Lowell, MA) – The Women Working Wonders Fund, a permanently endowed fund of the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, recently named the Megan House Foundation as one of five recipients of $5,000 through their annual grant program.
“The Greater Lowell Community Foundation has been a tremendous supporter of the Megan’s House mission since our inception,” said Megan House Foundation Executive Director Pamela Huntley. “To also have the prestigious Women Working Wonders Fund recognize the amazing work being done to help young women in recovery provides a much needed boost as we seek to expand our programs and help reunite young mothers with their children.”
The grant award will help supplement the Megan House Foundation’s “Coming Home” project at Emma’s Place, which provides a sober living environment for parent-child reunification and bonding. The goal is to establish a sense of “normalcy” for young individuals and families who are typically from low socioeconomic status and often end up homeless as a result.
“We’re proud to celebrate our 15th anniversary and provide an additional grant to the community this year,” said Bopha Malone, Women Working Wonders Fund Board President. “These nonprofits work wonders to improve the lives of girls and women, and we’re honored to help them make a difference and create positive change in countless lives.”
Founded in 2004 by a small group of women coming together to form a collective giving organization that focused on women’s issues, the Women Working Wonders Fund has awarded 41 grants of $5,000 to organizations supporting women and girls in the Greater Lowell area.
