It’s All in the Presentation
Back in June, the Megan House Foundation was thrilled to learn Program Director MaryBeth Murphy had been selected as a Commonwealth Heroine of 2020 by the State of Massachusetts. This past week, the man who nominated her for the honor stopped by Megan’s House to make the official presentation.
State Representative Tom Golden of Lowell handed the woman we call “MB” a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Foundation Board Chair Robert Gignac also presented Murphy with a framed copy of the Lowell Sun article about the award.
Representative Golden, Gignac, Murphy and Executive Director Pam Huntley, who was also on hand for the presentation, have been instrumental in the organization’s success. From raising awareness of the opioid crisis, to fundraising and the day-to-day services offered to the young women in recovery at Megan’s House and Erin’s House, these individuals are shining examples of what can result when people from all walks of life work together for the common good.
Congratulations again MaryBeth. You’ve earned every accolade that’s come your way. And thank you Representative Golden for always being a champion of our cause. Together, we make a difference!
