Friends and Neighbors Come Together
Wednesday September 30, 2020 marks a significant day for the Megan House Foundation; 5-years to the day that the organization officially opened its doors to Megan’s House, which began our journey of helping what is now hundreds of young women in recovery.
Traditionally, the day is celebrated with an Anniversary Gala which has raised roughly $100,000 annually for the Foundation. Unfortunately, COVID has led to the cancellation of the 5th Anniversary event, which was slated to be the biggest and best yet.
Thankfully, the pandemic hasn’t been able to cancel the spirit of giving, and Megan’s House has planned 5 Days Celebrating 5 Years of Building Bridges to Recovery; a collaboration of efforts to help fill the void created by the loss of our largest fundraising event.
Beginning Wednesday, September 30th and running through October 4th, we encourage you to visit our website and make a contribution to this initiative. The direct link can be found clicking here.
In addition to the online effort, Board members and Foundation staff have planned numerous, COVID safe and socially distanced gatherings of supporters to help raise money and awareness.
One such effort was actually held last week when Executive Director Pam Huntley and her husband Dana treated friends, family, and neighbors to a backyard concert featuring the band Crush, a Dave Matthews Tribute Band. The picnic-style gathering, over a spacious plot of land, even featured a food truck, stage, and decorative lighting to add to the celebratory feel. The pictures included in this post only begin to capture the flavor of what turned out to be a beautiful evening.
When the night was complete, the Huntleys raised nearly $5,000 for the Foundation. Funding the will go a long way to keeping our mission going through these challenging times.
The Megan House Foundation invites everyone to join us over these next 5 Days Celebrating 5 Year of Building Bridges to Recovery. Your past support has been instrumental in our success and the successful recovery of our residents.
Thank you in advance for your support in any form that takes. Together, we make a difference!
